Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £10,000 were seized from an address in Salisbury yesterday, July 3.

Police Community Tasking Team officers went to an address in Juniper Drive yesterday afternoon after reports from locals.

A quantity of mature cannabis plants were seized and a man in his 40s ‘invited in’ for interview in due course.

Insp Pete Sparrow said: “All the community intelligence we receive is used to build a picture of what is happening in our communities.

“Growing cannabis remains against the law and we will continue to look into those who exploit the vulnerable through drug supply to make profit illegally.

“Aside from the legal or health issues, there are significant fire risks associated with the cultivation of cannabis which can pose a danger to those living nearby as well as the occupant.

“As a result of the intelligence provided by local people in this case, we have been able to intercept the supply of cannabis with a  street value of £10,000 from reaching our streets. We’ve also prevented someone from benefiting financially from this illegal activity.”

If you suspect drug activity in your area, call 101 to report it.
