Salisbury Winterfest, the city’s winter beer festival, celebrates small breweries for the 22nd time on January 25 and 26.
Many of the beers offered at the Royal British Legion Club in Endless Street, Salisbury, come from Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset with just a few from further afield. The festival is organised by Salisbury & South Wilts branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Organiser Hilary Bird said: “At just 24 different beers, the selection has to get every one of them right so we offer a range of styles and strengths and make the most of the winter months by featuring a few more darker beers than at our summer festival.
“Locally we have Hop Back, Downton, Stonehenge and Dark Revolution breweries hoping the latter will have something ‘dark and a bit exotic’ in time for the event. We plan to offer three ciders from local producers.”
Tickets are available for the 6.30pm to 11pm sessions. Saturday daytime has sold out. It is just £6 for a ticket and the beers will be £3.60 a pint with half pint and third of a pint measures on offer.
Tickets are available from the Wyndham Arms, Estcourt Road, and the Village Freehouse, Wilton Road, both in Salisbury, or go to www.salisburycamra.org.uk for more details or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
