6m Giant Puppet Comes to Amesbury Carnival

This year’s Amesbury Carnival procession promises to be one of the most spectacular in recent years featuring entries from many local organisations and schools.  Heading up the procession will be the ever popular and entertaining Bournemouth Carnival Band dressed as Spiderman and Batman.  Disco Dion will be bringing up the rear with his unique and energetic entertainment.  The procession will also include an entry from Julias House who are this year’s nominated carnival charity

The procession marks the beginning of this year’s Amesbury Carnival on Saturday, 15th June. The procession will leave Stonehenge School at approximately 11.30am and will arrive at Holders Road Field between 12.15pm and 12.45pm.

Amesbury Carnival Committee are pleased to be working with DOCA Devizes who are heading up the Kings Gate Project which will be entering a 6 Metre puppet of a Neolithic woman (Beryl) in this year’s procession. The puppet will be operated by volunteers from the Beautiful Creatures Theatre and local residents and has been funded by Bloor Homes Arts Council England and Amesbury Area Board.
