The success of their Upper Sixth leavers with excellent A Level results was celebrated today, August 15, by Bruton School for Girls.

Nearly 20% received straight A*/A grades, and 40% of all grades were awarded an A or above, but nearly 85% of grades were C or above. The school results bucked the trend of the decline of English Literature A Level, with nearly 25% taking the subject and every grade awarded an A* or A.

Lucy A, from Gillingham, achieved 2 A grades in Drama and English and a B in Biology and will study Midwifery at Cardiff.

Headmistress, Nicky Botterill said: “Huge amounts of hard work and determination from both girls and our dedicated staff go into achieving such impressive results.  As an academically non-selective school, I am thrilled for the girls, and some have achieved significant personal triumphs. Alongside their A Level results, girls obtain an array of extra qualifications here, such as the English Speaking Board qualification, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the Extended Project Qualification.  This means they leave us extremely well-prepared for their exciting futures; the power of an all-girls education cannot be underestimated.”
