Southern Spinal Injuries Trust (SSIT) annual Big Bike Challenge 2019 is on June 22.

This year, on offer are three distances – 200 miles, 118 miles and 60 miles. The 200-mile ride is managed and organised by Salisbury Road and Mountain Cycle Club. Organisation of the 118 mile and 60 mile routes is by Wheels in Wheels.

Starting and finishing at Five Rivers Leisure Centre, Salisbury, the 200-mile, 118- mile and 60-mile events are supported with refreshments, meals, massage and physiotherapy, as well as mechanical and safety coverage along each route.

SSIT wants to encourage riders, irrespective of their experience, to sign up. Each year, the riders on the Big Bike Ride raise money from individual sponsorship. The aim is to raise sufficient sponsorship to purchase specialist equipment, such as hand bikes and other equipment to improve and enhance the quality of life for people living with spinal injury in the south and south west of England.

Headline sponsor is Leigh Day Solicitors.
