Wilton-based fresh food specialists Reeve the Baker were crowned best UK Craft Bakery 2019 at the Baking Industry Awards yesterday, Wednesday, September 4 in London.

Reeve the baker were finalist in two categories; The Craft Bakery Business Award & Speciality Bread Product of the Year, with its New Forest Wild Garlic & Emmental Sourdough.

Rising as Best Craft Bakery for the South West, Reeve then became overall winner, sinking six other bakeries.

“It is with great pride we were awarded Best Craft Bakery title,” said Gary Reeve, managing director. “We have a simple philosophy to honour the traditions of craft baking, using the best ingredients, to produce the best possible products. Our customer are wonderfully loyal and this award recognises their support over the years. It is great to know our products are recognised at such a high level”.

The awards are the most prestigious event in the UK bakery calendar and provide a magnificent stage for acknowledging the skills and achievements of individuals and businesses operating in the bakery industry.

In 1952, Harold Reeve’s passion for craft baking laid the foundations for Reeve the baker’s continuing pursuit of excellence. Three generations on, it now has 12 shops and tea rooms across the South West of England.
