Two students from Harrow Way Community School, Andover, have put the town on the map at the English Schools’ Athletics Association (ESAA) Championships.
At the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, Year 9 student Adam Robinson took Silver in the high jump, leaping 1.84m, and Year 9 Beth Matthews scored a personal best in hammer throwing with a huge 42.01m, taking fifth place.
The ESAA National Championship is the fourth largest athletics event in the World. Each county selects a number of athletes for each sporting discipline to compete for the honour of being the best in the England. Adam and Beth earned their place as Hampshire’s overall top performers at the high jump and hammer.

After Adam’s success at national level, Harrow Way ate purchasing their own high jump bed ready for next summer term.
