National No Smoking Day, March 13, also marks Wiltshire Council’s three main hubs becoming smoke-free.

Public and council staff are barred from smoking on the grounds or associated car parks of Bourne Hill, Salisbury, County Hall, Trowbridge, and Monkton Park, Chippenham.

Each hub has clear signage to notify people of the new arrangements

The council hopes the new arrangements will encourage smokers to quit for good.

The council provides support, including a dedicated health trainer team: to find out more.

Public vaping is permitted outside, but away from main entrances, windows and being mindful of other people using the sites.

The council’s intention is to make its other sites smoke free during the coming 12 months.
