Christmas lights up in the trees around Salisbury’s Market Place and Guildhall Square will stay on ‘to help keep away the post-Christmas blues’.
Cllr Jeremy Nettle said: “We have decided to keep the lights in place to brighten up these areas until spring comes.”
“The lights are so lovely in the trees, it seemed a shame to take them down when the city can be so gloomy in the winter months after Christmas.
“Salisbury Charter Market runs all year with a wide range of good and services and I encourage local people to support their local market.”
The lights will remain in place until Friday, March 13.
