Salisbury’s MP John Glen, who is also a Business Minister, has welcomed the news that planning permission has been tabled for the start of the long-awaited development of the Maltings site in Salisbury city centre.

Mr Glen told Valley News: “I welcome the submission of the planning application for the first stage of the Maltings redevelopment.”

“I was delighted in the Autumn, last year, to hear the announcement of the initial £6 million tranche of funding for the project from Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP).

“I know that the project is very much a work in progress and I look forward to watching plans further evolve over the coming months as we look to transform a key area of the city centre.”
