Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage to assist with investigations into an incident in West Winterslow at about 9.45pm on Wednesday, September 11.

A group of men in a BMW were been seen driving down The Street causing damage to a Ford Transit. It is believed the damage was caused by ball bearings or pellets.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old local man on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm and criminal damage. He was released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Det Insp Nicki Davey said: “Fortunately, nobody was injured during this incident. Damage to the vehicle suggest something was fired at it, causing small holes, which had the potential to cause injury to a passenger or driver.”

“We would like to hear from anyone who lives in the areas of The Street, Plantation Road, Recreation Road and Yew Tree Close, who may have private CCTV footage, or anyone who was driving in the area who may have a dash cam fitted. You may have unknowingly captured footage vital to our investigation, so please do get in touch.”
