Police are appealing for information about a robbery in Salisbury on August 17, at about 12.20pm to 12.30pm.

A 40-year-old man was walking in Bedwin Street near the corner of Endless Street, when he was approached by a man who hit him round the head with an unknown object gashing his head, and dealt with by paramedics at the scene.

The offender stole a small amount of cash and ran off possibly in the direction of Salt Lane. It is believed the victim and offender know each other.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a class A drug. He was released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

Det Con Caroline Biggs said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident involving the two men – you may have information which could assist our enquiries. The suspect is described as white, with brown/grey hair, and wearing a grey Adidas t-shirt with jeans. If you think you saw him, please contact us immediately.”
