The Maltings redevelopment has taken another step into the future.

The revised planning application for a hotel, gym and library in the controversial Salisbury city centre makeover was approved by Wiltshire Council’s Strategic Planning Committee on September 11.

Developers Janus Henderson can now start replacing the existing building at 30-36 Fisherton Street with a library and separate gym on the ground floor, and an 86-room hotel on the first and second floors. Phase one of the wider redevelopment of the Maltings and Central Car Park includes the existing library site and Market Walk in phase two.
