A knife-point robbery at a garage in Warminster at about 8.30pm on Sunday March 17, is being investigated by police.

A man went into the Esso garage in East Street wielding a knife and demanded money from the cashier who refused. The cashier’s shirt was grabbed to try to get him to open the till, but the intruder ran off towards East End Avenue.

He is described as white, aged between 30 and 40, of skinny build. He was wearing a grey hoody with the hood up and tightened around his face, black trousers, white trainers and gardening style plastic gloves.

Acting Det Sgt Rachel Winter said: “We attended the scene following the initial 999 call to conduct enquiries – understandably, the staff member was feeling very shaken up.

“We have obtained some CCTV images from the premises and our enquiries are ongoing.

“We urge the public to look at the image and the description of the suspect – although his face is hidden. Anyone who knows the individual may recognise him from the picture or from the clothing he is wearing.

“Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190026531, or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
