Wiltshire Council has rejected an application for 24 signs to advertise a new McDonald’s drive-through and restaurant on the outskirts of Salisbury.

Council said the controversial signs in Salisbury created an ‘unco-ordinated cluttered visual appearance’.

The signs would also have been used to advertise a car park it shares with a new Premier Hotel.

”The signs are considered to adversely affect the visual amenity of the area by reason of an excessive amount of signage and by creating an uncoordinated cluttered visual appearance,” the council’s full statement claimed.
