A Literary Festival, an academy and a live music event have been awarded grants by Salisbury City Council.
Salisbury Literary Festival, run by a dedicated team of local volunteers from October 17 to 22, covered events for all ages and levels of mobility and isolation. The organisers used the grant to support a children’s programme, to encourage families to visit Salisbury, using the library for books and reading fun events for children.
Sarum Academy is working with Wiltshire FA, Football Foundation and Wiltshire Council to help meet the need for a 3G ATP, identified in the Wiltshire Playing Pitch Strategy 2017 and a key objective of Wiltshire FA.
The success of the ‘One Step Behind’ live music event in Salisbury Market Square has led to a return booking as the launch event for Salisbury Live 2019. The free event includes regional and local musical acts by young people from local colleges and schools. The grant support fees for booking the musical acts, lighting, sound system, staging, security, production and marketing costs.
