Helping people avoid homelessness is the aim of Wiltshire Council’s Homeless Strategy in a five-year action plan.
The 2019-2024 strategy and action plan seeks to reduce rough sleeping, identify and prevent homelessness at the earliest possible stage,
ensure services are designed to prevent homelessness and support those who are homeless, ensure those who are threatened with homelessness or who are homeless can secure and keep a suitable home, and maintain effective strategic direction and partnership working.
The action plan, which goes to full council for agreement, will be reviewed annually by the homeless strategy forum established with partner organisations.
In 2018, Wiltshire Council obtained £312,245 for 2018/19 and £305,491 for 2019/20. In November, 2018, there was a reduction in rough sleeping figures for Wiltshire to 22 on the date when the national count was carried out.
