More than £30,000 has been awarded by Salisbury City Council to local clubs and groups in grants over the past 12 months.

The grants cover a range of issues  and community-based initiatives that improve the quality of life for residents in the Salisbury City area, specifically projects that local people need and want, according to the council.

Two types of grants: general awards up to £500 for smaller ventures completed over a 12 month period, and guaranteed grants for community-led schemes in which between £500 and £3,000 can be awarded each year for three years to help an ongoing project or larger initiative.

The grants are available only to non-profit making organisations.
