Residents decked out their homes in dazzling decorations to win goodies from local shops in Shaftesbury, and £100 to the winner’s chosen charity.
Town mayor Piers Brown judged and was looking for originality, personality and festivity.
Winner was Wayne Adams, of Anstee Road.
Wayne chose his charity as Shaftesbury Abbey Primary School PTFA. This charity holds lots of events for socialising and fundraising.
Their major project is helping provide IT equipment for the school and the development of the stomping ground.
Local shops who donated prizes included Cranbornes, an independent retailer selling gifts, cards, jewellery and fashion accessories on the High Street, Box of All Sorts, toys, stationery, traditional sweets, Home & Hardware, Cookware, DIY, Gardening and Arts & Crafts supply. Prime Cuts, Traditional & Catering Butchers, based in Dorset, and Shaftesbury Wines, an independent selling real wines from small producers and other special spirits, including a fantastic gin selection.
