Sarah Humby and Jayne Soakell, who run a collective called The Art of Staring Out to Sea, are promoting a Printmaking for Beginners workshops at Burley Village Hall.

They held an exhibition at Shaftesbury Arts Centre Gallery last July during the Arts Festival and will be exhibiting again during June.

The workshops are an opportunity to explore the basics of lino-cutting, monoprinting and block printing on fabrics in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with sessions on making simple artists books using watercolour and resist techniques.

Sessions run once per month, except for August, from 10-3pm and cost £55-£65.

The next beginners workshop is on February 5, teaching the basic technique of lino cut.

Full schedule can be viewed here.
