A new netball league in Tisbury is aimed at getting women off the couch and onto the court.
Leagues4you run sporting fun leagues across the UK, involving more than 3,100 players.
Emma Edmonds, League Development Officer, wants to get people back into sport.
“We’re passionate about the benefits playing sport can bring to people’s lives. In our recent survey, 81% of people said playing in our leagues helped improve mental wellbeing and social life,” she said
Anyone over 14 was welcome to join regardless of ability, fitness and age.
“The league arranges court hire, umpires and the required kit, for example, bibs and balls.
“Teams play once a week on Tuesday evenings at the Nadder Centre, Weaveland Road, starting on August 6. The first night of the league is a refresher session when players can remind themselves of the rules, form teams, play practise matches and get themselves league-ready. Perfect for those who haven’t played since school.
“You can join leagues as a team, small group of friends, or individually. Many of our teams likeminded people who were once strangers. The cost is £32 per team per match, less than £5 per player!”
