The 29th edition of the Larmer Tree Festival will not lack laughs as this year’s late-night comedy line-up is headlined by Josie Long and Nish Kumar.
Radio 4’s ‘Short Cuts’ writer and presenter Josie Long is a multifaceted talent. Her most recent show ‘Something Better’ completed two sold-out weeks at London’s Soho Theatre and was filmed for an hour-long BBC special, she has investigated the growth of online comedy for BBC2 and starred in the 2018 film ‘Super November’.
She will be joined by critically acclaimed and panel show favourite Nish Kumar, host of ‘The Mash Report’. His current show ‘It’s in Your Nature to Destroy Yourselves’ takes its title from Terminator 2 and promises “jokes about politics, mankind’s capacity for self-destruction and whether it will lead to the end of days”.
Also featured during the four days is Stuart Goldsmith, who will host a live recording of the hit podcast ‘The Comedian’s Comedian with guests Rob Auton and regular co-host of ‘The Guilty Feminist’ Jessica Fostekew, MC’d by Laura Lexx.
Additionally, the youngest ever winner of the ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ award Ivo Graham, rising talent Catherine Bohart and Colin Hoult as MC in the role of veteran actress Anna Mann finishes the line-up.
The festival will hold Edinburgh preview shows each day with various performers.
A number of names have been added to the music line-up as well including Scottish folk-pop quartet Tide Lines and cinematic alt-goth band Curse Of Lono.
Details of the cinema, family, theatre and literary programmes will be announced soon.
