Next meeting of the Salisbury branch of the English Speaking Union (ESU) is on Monday, November 18 at the Mercure Salisbury White Hart Hotel, with coffee from 10.15. The talk is on ‘Crime, Crisis and Courage’ delivered by Peter Power JP, committee member of the local ESU and member of the Knightsbridge-based Special Forces Club.
Peter’s talk will focus on his early background at New Scotland Yard attached to units such as Counter Terrorism, but more specifically running his own organisation for the past 30 years advising governments and other organisations on crisis management, as well as regularly appearing on UK TV news etc.
This led him to being invited to join the Special Forces Club which commemorates the work of the Special Operations Executive in WWII.
The ESU, whose global purpose is to give young people the speaking and listening skills and cultural understanding they need to thrive, welcomes visitors at their routine events with speakers and lunch.
