Have you ever wondered what life might be like for someone who is deaf and blind and what support is available? Step into the shoes of someone with dual sensory loss of hearing and sight – a dark, silent world.
On Tuesday, June 25, Wiltshire Council’s Hearing and Vision team provide a unique insight into the world of deaf-blindness with specialist technology, including simulation glasses, ear defenders and other immersive experiences.
Visit the team on Tuesday, June 25, 2.30pm to 4:30pm in the Atrium, County Hall, Trowbridge.
The team will discuss support which is available. The event could benefit anyone who is Deafblind, family and friends, or those who provide services to those with dual sensory loss, or those interested in learning more.
Here at the Valley News office in Wilton, we have a drop-off point for SENSE, the Deaf-Blind charity which we sponsor.
We collect goods which are sent to the SENSE shops around the country. The promoter is Linda Martin, Burcombe, Salisbury.
She has supported the charity for some time. Regional manager for SENSE is Carl Williams.
