Sarah Fletcher of Mark Jones Eye Care is walking the Great Wall of China in April in support of Salisbury Hospital Stars Appeal.
She hosted Stand Up Salisbury, a night of entertainment and laughs at the Chafyn Grove School raising £1,032 towards her £2000 target.
The night featuring comedy, magic, music, laughter and fabulous pizza by The Slinky Fox was enjoyed by family, friends, businesses and other trekkers.
Vocalist Kim G performed Motown classics, magician Marcus Bailey used sleight of hand to entertain the tables, and comedians Richard James, Suzy Bennett, Richard Lindsay and Louis Burgess brought out the laughs.
“It’s been fabulous with so many people here. The bar has been inundated right from the start,” Sarah said.
“With the raffle proving hugely popular, I think we have sold the highest amount of tickets ever.
“Everybody was having a great time, a great laugh and drinking .”
Two years ago, Sarah trekked the Inca Trail and raised nearly £7,000 for Stars Appeal.
This year, she is walking the Great Wall of China with 50 others from Salisbury, hoping to raise more than £100,000 for the charity.
She funds the trip herself and every penny donated at her event goes directly to the charity.
Sarah thanked everyone who attended and supported the event.
“Chafyn Grove School was brilliant in letting me have the performance hall for the evening, and we’ve had loads of local businesses giving us raffle prizes, which was amazing,” she said.
Main sponsors were: Nanny Nellies Attic, The Slinky Fox, Total Foot Health and Mark Jones eye Care.
Other supporters included Chafyn Grove School, Kim G, The White Hart Hotel, and Shipseys Marquees, Back In shape Chiropractor, Marcus Bailey, Tune Up Fitness, and Live Escape Salisbury.
Although Sarah’s target has been met, Sarah is still accepting donations all of which will go to the Stars Appeal.
