Compton Abbas Airfield welcomed 120 aircraft on Sunday, May 12 for their Vintage Fly-in Day 2019.

Weather conditions were perfect and the capacity crowd enjoyed spectacle after spectacle of a bygone age of flying, landing and taking off into brilliant blue skies.

There were also a great variety of vintage vehicles, motorbikes and military vehicles of various shapes and sizes.

The airfield’s students and members were treated to the experience of a very busy circuit and fantastic bird’s eye views of Austers, Tiger Moths, Fox Moths & Hornet Moths, Stearmans, Chipmunks and a replica Spitfire to name a few.

The bunting was flying and the old-time music was playing on the terrace with very patient queuing customers for the café.

The organisers thanked everyone who came along to make it one of the best Fly-in Days they have had at Compton Abbas Airfield.
