Young and old were entertained to ‘Would I Lie To You’ at Godolphin School’s Blackledge Theatre on April 6, with stories of mistaken identities, stolen goods, burlesque evenings and armed police raids.

The ‘celebrities’ who took part – Cllr Mike Osment, mayor of Salisbury, with team members Martyn Davies, Musical Theatre Salisbury, Rebecca Hudson, journalist, Austin Cohen, founder of Austin Cohen Global Foundation…

…and John Glen, Salisbury MP with team members Phil Harding, fieldwork archaeologist, known for “Time Team”, Andrew White, local comedian, and Martin Starke, local radio presenter. Chris and Jonathan Baker were joint presenters.

The evening raised funds for the Salisbury Mayor’s Appeal, Children’s Chance and the Rose Gale Trust. The event raised more than £1,300.

John Glen said: “I was very pleased to be able to do my bit to support such good causes. I congratulate the Mayor and the organisers on putting together such a fun and well run evening.”
