To celebrate the 10th trail this year, Wylye Valley Art Trail organisers extended the event to 10 days from Saturday, May 18, until Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.

Since its founding in 2001, the biennial Wylye Valley Art Trail has become probably the largest visual arts event in Wiltshire. This year, it will be largest and most exciting yet, with 87 venues across South West Wiltshire, covering Warminster, Westbury, Wylye, Maiden Bradley, Mere, Hindon, Tisbury and villages in between.

The Trail includes art and craft by over 390 exhibitors, ranging from award-winning artists with international reputations, to those just starting out on their creative journeys.

The venues are a mixture of open studios and workplaces, galleries, exhibitions by art groups, student groups and ‘hands on’ activities, demonstrations, workshops and talks, They cover painting to print-making, furniture making to photography, and sculpture to ceramics, as well as contemporary art forms such as digital art, installation, video and art using recycled materials.

Of the original 2001 participants, 10 have exhibited in every Wylye Valley Art Trail since.

Wylye Valley Art Trail brochures will be available from mid April at Tourist Information Centres, arts centres, libraries and other places.
