The Grade II listed pub and restaurant, The Rose & Crown, in Tilshead has been bought by Dr Priya Naraynsingh and Riccardo Grigolo.

They plan to refurbish and reopen in time for the summer tourist season. They Said: “We hope to run The Rose & Crown as a gastropub so the locals can still enjoy their pub, but with the introduction of some Italian food and an area to enjoy Italian dining as well to attract customers from further afield.”

Richard Wood, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co WHO handled the sale, said: “I am delighted to have found new owners for The Rose & Crown as the venue has great potential to grow, given its proximity to the new Stonehenge Visitor Centre and other nearby attractions.  “I’m sure the new owners, Priya and Riccardo, will make their new venture a great success.

”The Rose & Crown was sold with a freehold guide price of £395,000.

The popular thatch and stone pub benefits from high volumes of trade due to its close proximity to local attractions, such as Stonehenge, Avebury World Heritage Site, Longleat House & Safari Park and Thruxton Motor Racing Circuit.

Formerly owned and run by experienced operators, Reg, Teressa and Teresa Capon, the business has grown in popularity over the past five years, serving fresh home cooked dishes.
