Thursday 8 November is an important date for Godolphin School as they host “Godolphin Remembers” – a celebration of the contribution made by the students, staff and alumnae of Godolphin School, and their families, during the Great War, 1914 – 18.
Godolphin is privileged to have extensive archive records of the school, most of which are housed at Wiltshire County Records Office in Chippenham, as well as hand written diaries dating back hundreds of years. The records have been used to create an evening of music and poetry performed at Godolphin during the Great War. The music is interspersed with letters and readings from the school diaries. An extensive exhibition of artefacts and archives compliments the performance.
The archive exhibition opens at 6pm in the Main Hall and the Commemorative Performance follows in the Performing Arts Centre at 7pm. The event is open to the public and tickets are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/godolphinevents with proceeds going to SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
