Two people were arrested yesterday following a chase through Salisbury.
At about 5.30pm, a Ford Fiesta reported stolen from Hampshire was spotted on the A30 heading into Salisbury.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle on St Mark’s roundabout, but failed and a pursuit was authorised.
The vehicle drove on into heavy traffic, mounting pavements and colliding with queuing vehicles but was later located abandoned in Wilton Road. It was recovered for CSI.
After area searches, two people were arrested and an 18-year-old woman from Hampshire arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft. A 26-year-old man from Dorset was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, failing to stop, dangerous driving and breach of a harassment order. They are in custody in Melksham.
Sergeant Tracey Holloway said: “This vehicle was driven extremely dangerously at the height of rush hour and a number of vehicles belonging to the public were damaged. Those who haven’t yet made contact with police, please do so.
“We appeal to anyone in the area yesterday at about 5.30pm who may have dash-cam footage, to get in touch.”
