Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life 5k and 10k events at Hudson’s Field, Castle Road are on Sunday, June 10. The organisers want people from all walks of life to sign up as helpers at raceforlife.org
Volunteers are needed to manage the information marquee, cheer participants around the course, and hand out medals at the finish line.
Brenda Scott, Cancer Research UK’s Salisbury Event Manager, said: “Race for Life is a women-only series of events but men have a really important role to play. By joining our squad of dedicated volunteers, they will help to make our events an outstanding success, and be doing their bit to beat cancer sooner.
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, is an inspiring women-only series of 5k, 10k, Pretty Muddy, Half Marathon and Hiking events which raise millions of pounds every year to help fund ground-breaking research.
Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work relies on the public’s support. Thanks to the generosity of its supporters, the charity was able to spend around £2 million last year in the South West on some of the UK’s leading scientific and clinical research – helping more men, women and children survive the disease.
