Knitters needed

The Royal Voluntary Service wants knitters for a dolly-knitting challenge to mark the service’s 80th anniversary.

The finished dollies will be sold to raise vital funds to support the work of Royal Voluntary Service in the area.

The fundraising challenge is supported by who donated some of the wool, and knitting groups from across the country are encouraged to take part.

The dollies are knitted in Royal Voluntary Service colours, using a pattern specially crafted and donated by knitting designer, Claire Fairall.

Royal Voluntary Service in Dorset provides the Home Library Service free of charge to those who cannot easily get to their local library, and books and talking books are chosen and delivered every three weeks.

To find out more about local services, volunteering with RVS, make a donation, or get a free knitting pattern, contact 01305 236666, or e-mail
