The RNLI’s local branch has received £1,000 from Fareham-based housebuilder Persimmon Homes South Coast, to help sponsor the annual bumper RNLI Midsummer Garden Party fundraising event.
The event is on Thursday, June 21, from 6.30 to 8pm, at Wilton House, ancestral home of the Earl and Countess of Pembroke. The prestigious party includes drinks, canapés and raffle, with lifesavers from Mudeford Lifeboat also attending.
Garden party tickets are available from firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 07930 373283.
Ray Stedman, branch chairman, said: “This is our main fundraising event of the year and we thank Persimmon Homes South Coast for supporting us in this way through its Community Champions scheme.
“We hope to have 200 people, larger than usual, due to the enlarged branch area now including Salisbury.”
Matt Paine, managing director for Persimmon Homes South Coast, added: “We are always keen to support the local communities where we build, and especially delighted to help the Salisbury Wilton & District RNLI in this way.”
Persimmon Homes is currently building at St Peter’s Place in Fugglestone Red, with its sister company, Charles Church.
