Parking charges in Salisbury from Saturday, March 24, have been lifted to help support local businesses during the current crisis
Wiltshire Council has postponed charges in city car parks in response to feedback from local businesses who said the measure was needed to help encourage shoppers and visitors back into the city centre.
In short stay car parks, a maximum of 3 hours of free parking is available, so the spaces can be used several times a day. Park & Ride will continue to be free for anyone boarding from any of the five city Park & Ride sites.
Signs promoting free parking will be erected in all council operated car parks.
Wiltshire Council said the initiative was part of a multi-agency approach to promote that it’s “business as usual in Salisbury city centre.”
