Salisbury District Hospital – s** Staff Nurse and Nursing Assistants required for Durrington Ward**
The Acute Frailty Unit is recruiting committed Band 5 nurses and Band 2 nursing assistants to join the team. Times are changing in elderly care and the Durrington Unit has a new challenge!
From December 2017 we will be working alongside the current Acute Medical Admissions Unit as an Acute Frailty Unit, admitting patients directly and caring for older persons in the acute stage of their hospital admission only. We will of course need to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and patient relatives to ensure a timely yet safe discharge or transfer of care to the right place.
We will be looking to train Band 5 nurses and Band 2 nursing assistants in new skills to manage complex medical and social needs. Nursing staff will need to be able to assess patients on admission, and work closely with the medical team to understand care needs and plan for discharge – the average discharge date is estimated to be 5 days.
We’re committed to making sure patients have the right care in the right place and if you feel that you would like to be part of this new challenge then please feel free to contact Sister Mooney on 01722 336262 ext 2300 or apply directly through NHS Jobs!
