Town plans referendum

Gillingham Neighbourhood Plan Referendum is on Thursday, July 12, Gillingham Town chairman Cllr David  Walsh told the planning committee on June 11.

He explained that the question asked in the referendum is: “Do you want North Dorset District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for the parish of Gillingham to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”.

The referendum will ask you to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to this question and will be conducted in accordance with procedures similar to those used in local government elections.
