Support needed for small firms losing bank branches

Last chance bank closure

With the threat of Wilton’s branch of Lloyds Bank probably closing in March, bank branch closures is proving to be an emotive issue for many communities,

according to  Neil Eames development manager of the Federation of Small Businesses.

“There is clearly a need for alternate facilities to be made available, in some form of compromise. Bank branches are still vital to local economies up and down the country. Many local business communities will be disappointed to hear they are losing their bank branch,” he stressed.

Community leaders in Wilton are planning a mass poster demonstration against the closure of the last bank in town which serves many villages all around the rapidly  growing market town.
