Station boost

Station boost

Wilton’s proposed railway station has taken a huge leap forward, residents heard at a well-attended special meeting on Thursday, February 16, in the Baptist Church community room.

Funding has been made available from Wilton Estate and the town council for the feasibility study, which is the next stage of the process before ground work on the £5.5million Wilton Parkway station can begin.

Paul Johnson, from TransWilts, the company leading the project, told the meeting that possible development of a 60-bedroom hotel and housing alongside the station site, where a park and ride already operates, had given the scheme a big boost.
