Devizes-based family brewer and local pubs supplier Wadworth has brewed a limited edition Treacle Treat beer for Halloween.
New to its seasonal ale range, the ale is a ‘ghoulishly good’ dark ale, with an ABV of 4.2% and brewed using Target hops, Pale Ale, Crystal, Brown and Black malts. Black treacle has long been associated with the celebration of Halloween and so Wadworth has sweetened this autumn ale with treacle syrup, and liquorice root.
Andy Weaver, head brewer at Wadworth, said: “The addition of treacle syrup makes this one of the sweetest and most distinctive tasting Wadworth beers to date. As a result, we see Treacle Treat appealing to new and emerging dark ale drinkers as well as the enthusiasts.”
Treacle Treat is available in Wadworth pubst throughout October, and in bottles from tWadworth online shop and visitor centre, from Monday, October 16 at £2.10.
