The quirky country hotel, the four-star Cricket Field House overlooking South Wilts cricket ground, Wilton Road, on the outskirts of Salisbury, has new owners.
The award-winning hotel was put on the market by Brian and Margaret James, after 30 years of love completely refurbishing the once run-down Victorian property, originally a gamekeeper’s cottage on the Wilton estate, dating from 1850.
The extensively upgraded and extended accommodation includes spacious rooms and a modern annexe had an asking price of £1.55m.
The new owners of Cricket Field House, which, are John Hughes and Liz Wharton.
Mr Hughes said: “Our intention is to maintain the high standard while keying into the changing trends the hotel industry is seeing in the UK now.
