Salisbury MP John Glen has lent his support to Wessex Stoma Support in their campaign to allow disabled toilets to be used by ostomates and to help eliminate abuse when users leave the toilets.
Last year, with Mr Glen’s help, the group alerted the appropriate minister, and the campaign was highlighted in parliament.
Ken Edwards, group chairman, said of the campaign headed ‘Not all disabilities are visible’ had spread across the country, and the government was considering findings from research into how well current requirements of building regulation meets the needs of ostomates. The findings would help to decide whether to review the current guidance and to consider regulating the Changing Places facilities.
