A police probe into recent alleged human trafficking at premises in a small village has suddenly been dropped.
A man was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking after armed police raided the Shiny Car Hand Car Wash in Firsdown, near Salisbury.
Two people, described as ‘terrified slaves’, were taken to Salisbury District Hospital after they ‘escaped from the car wash’ – with one believed to have been stabbed.
Three children aged under nine were removed from the car wash under police protection.
Three other people from the site were also provided with support from specially trained officers.
Yesterday Brian Edgeley – chair of Firsdown Parish Council – was ‘very surprised at the decision’.
He said ‘a gun’ was supposed to have been found in the house by the police.
“I am surprised there was no case to prove – very surprised.”
Yesterday, Wiltshire Police said the children had been re-united with their parents, and the three other people taken from the car wash were re-housed.
”In relation to the human trafficking allegation, this case has been closed and no further action is being taken.”
