Valley News Broad band speed-up campaign
Chancellor Hammond has announced the first wave of funding to help roll out high-speed broadband to local areas, as part of the £190m challenge fund: about £95m allocated to 13 areas across the UK.
The Government has also signed an agreement with the Church of England for church spires to be made accessible to mobile providers to improve rural broadband connectivity.
It follows a successful trial of structures used to increase access to high-speed broadband in two dioceses – Norwich and Chelmsford. Mere Wiltshire councillor George Jeans reported on the move in his monthly division newsletter to electors.
