City’s special markets open for business

Salisbury’s open markets are still in business despite the crisis created by the mysterious attack in the city centre involving a Russian and his daughter. The city council is urging shoppers and visitors to ‘carry on as normal’.

The French and Vintage Markets return to Salisbury Market Place on Friday, March 23, from 10am to 4pm as well as the Vintage Market. The French Market has  a large selection of French cheeses, cooked meats, traditional French bread – ideal for dipping in a warming soup or accompanying a tasty pâté, and tasty crepes – the ultimate in French street-food.

Other stalls sell everything from retro art prints and classic French advertising to hand-crafted gifts, real leather bags and purses, hats and scarves.

Alongside the French Market, the attractive Vintage Market has beautiful vintage and antique items, with bric-a-brac stalls from past decades. Shoppers could enjoy retro street food accompanied by popular vintage-inspired live music.
