Two men, aged 23, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody in Melksham. after a report of a burglary in St Martins Church Street, Salisbury.
At about 4.40am this morning, October 12, Police received a call from a resident awakened by a noise sounding like a glass being smashed.
He went downstairs to investigate and found patio doors wide open, and a man was seen running away from the address.
A description of the man matched that of a man officers stopped in Gigant Street.
A second man was arrested nearby and addresses associated with the pair were searched and items of suspected stolen property located and seized, but believed to be not linked to the initial report of burglary.
