Immigration Enforcement has taken over responsibility for 11 illegal immigrants including six children found in a refrigeration lorry on the A303 at Willoughby Hedge, Wiltshire. Medics dashed to the scene and gave them emergency treatment.
South Western Ambulance Service said:”We treated and assessed 11 patients. They were all well and did not need to go to hospital.”
Wiltshire Council said:”We have been working with our partner agencies to provide support and help to those involved.”
Immigration Enforcement was contacted by Wiltshire Police after the lorry was spotted in a lay-by by officers.The 11 were detained by the police after being freed by fire fighters.One was from Afghanistan and the other 10 are from Iraq.
