All steamed up

An unusual event at Salisbury museum on Tuesday, June 20, brings in a group of steam cars when The Steam Car Club of Great Britain stops at the museum for a few hours., The 13 stunning vintage and veteran cars can be investigated at close quarters, driven by members of the club, as part of their ‘Wiltshire Wander’ – a five day trip around the five river valleys.

Each day, the cars will travel a distance of about 40 miles, taking in the beautiful Wiltshire landscape, including Stonehenge on the first day of the tour. The route has been planned to keep off the busy main roads, but to include lots of places to stop and fill up with water, as the cars are very thirsty.

The cars are due to start arriving just after 11am and will line up on the museum forecourt until around 4pm.
