Owners Graeme and Nikki at the Greyhound Inn, Wilton, welcomed friends and guests to the launch night of their newly refurbished bed & breakfast rooms.
“The launch night proved a huge success with overwhelming positive feedback. It was lovely to see people’s reactions when viewing the rooms,” Nikki said.
Nikki and Graeme have spent the past eight years renovating the listed inn, starting the project in 2010 when work began on the pub’s exterior and slowly working their way inside, but keeping the Greyhound’s original character. Now, with the completion of the project, visitors and guests can indulge in a comfortable, yet stylish stay in the heart of Wilton.
“It’s lovely to finish restoring all aspects of the pub and we now have a fully-functioning venue,” Nikki added.
The Greyhound has four bedrooms and an exclusive separate two-bedroom apartment in what used to be The Old Coach House building in the yard, with additional bedrooms, kitchen facilities and sitting room.
All rooms are furnished to a high standard and have a flat screen TV, fridge, complementary refreshments and en-suite bathroom.
“We wanted our rooms to be cosy, relaxing and inviting while enhancing the natural character and history of the building. We are pleased with the work and now look forward to welcoming guests,” Nikki added.
Wilton is an all-year-round visitor attraction, but overnight accommodation has not been sufficient to meet demand. The new rooms at The Greyhound will help to meet that demand.
