Oyez! Oyez! Salisbury Launches Town Crier Competition

Salisbury City Council is delighted to announce its very first Town Crier Competition.

Do you have what it takes to be Salisbury’s very first Town Crier? The Council are looking for someone to make the cathedral City’s public announcements and be a valued part of the community.

Entrants are asked to complete an application form and return to the Council by 5pm on Wednesday 28 February.

Cllr Jo Broom who proposed the idea for Councillors to consider said, “I am delighted that my fellow councillors agreed to a Town Crier for our City. I hope lots of people enter our competition, and look forward to hearing the finalists at our St. George’s Day.”

A shortlist of entrants will then be asked to make a short recording and join the Council at the St. George’s Day Celebrations on Sunday 22 April where the public will decide their favourite.
